Webelos  Klondike  Trek  Provisions

Because  of  the  nature  on  timing  of  this  event  it  is  particularly  important  to  discuss  with  your  young  Scouts  the   importance  of  not  only  dressing  appropriately  for  the  current  weather  conditions,  but  also  planning  for  changing   conditions.    To  that  end  it  was  decided  to  include  a  station  (performed  during  check  in)  that  would  check  their   ability  to  do  so,  as  well  as  allow  them  the  ability  to  prepare  for  this  event  on  their  own.     The  “Event  Conditions  Preparedness”  station  is  graded  to  ensure  that  the  boys  understand  the  importance  of   preparing  appropriately  for  any  outing.  Even  though  the  event  is  only  looking  for  a  small  specific  set  of  items  it  is   important  to  train  your  boys  to  think  of  safety  first.  At  this  time  there  is  no  requirement  for  an  “Emergency   Package”  it  should  be  discussed  and  its  importance  stressed.    Future  events  may  have  this  included  depending  on   your  feedback.     Self  Explanatory  Required  Provisions:   Proper  Layered  Clothes  for  Current  Weather  Conditions     Required  Provisions  for  each  member  of  the  patrol:  (Even  if  they  will  not  be  used)   Gloves   Rain  Gear   Headwear         Webelos  Handbook   Day  Pack   Drinking  Water   Lunch    (Including  uncooked,  wrapped,  grilled-‐cheese  sandwich.    May  bring  something  else  too,  but  need  to  cook  a   grilled  cheese  sandwich  at  the  Cooking  Station.)   Snack     Required  Provisions  for  each  patrol:   Patrol  Flag   Patrol  First  Aid  Kit   Garbage  Bag  (This  is  a  leave  no  trace  event)
