 Black History project due February 25, 2016. If your child has not received the packet and folder, please contact homeroom teacher. Lost & Found Parents, as informed the lost and found items will be pick up every Thursday by the Salvation Army. Please claim your belongings by Wednesday end of the day.  Parent Chaperone training will be on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 4:30-4:45 pm. Dismissal tags will be required to pick-up students, and you must have the dismissal tags in the windshield of your car. Make sure is visible.

Bike Contest Every student from Kinder to 5th grade that eat lunch at the cafeteria will have the opportunity to participate in a bike drawing. Starting February 18, 2016 to April 29, 2016. The Prize will be deliver on April 30. Parent/Teacher Conference If you are unable to make a parent/teacher conference on time – please notify your teacher ASAP to accommodate for others who want a conference.

K – 2nd Grade News February 22 – February 26 2016 What will we be learning? Kinder Reading: Checkouts (a timed reading test where students are given a passage and the teacher checks for fluency and accuracy. Please practice at home with your child! Time them and mark off any words missed. After timing them, have them read the words they missed the fast way). Checkouts are presented at lesson 108! Language: before/after; some/more/none; months of year/days of the week; classification (plants, vehicles, and clothing) Math: addition, subtraction, counting forwards and backwards 1st Grade Reading: Letter names, Reading aloud; fluency, timed reading tests and Silent “E” rule Language: Spelling, Similarities/Opposites, Cardinal directions and Calendar Facts Math: Counting money, Number Families, Addition/Subtraction and fast cycling (certain groups 2nd Grade Reading/Language: Reading Comprehension, Fluency, Reading checkout/mastery test and spelling Math: Timed Addition/Subtraction Facts, Number Families and Column Addition/Subtraction

3rd – 5th Grade News February 22 – February 26 2016 What will we be learning? 3rd Grade Reading we will be reviewing expository text: taking information from the text to determine main idea, supporting details, make inferences and discover meaning of words using clues from the text. 4th Grade Reading- Students make connections (e.g., thematic links, author analysis) between and across informational texts with similar ideas and provide text evidence to support their connections Writing- Students will be take their STAAR Writing March 29, 2016. We will be staring our countdown to STAAR. Math- Geometry – Point, Lines and Angles: The student applies mathematical process standards to develop and use strategies. 5th Grade Our fifth graders will be taking their STAAR Test in reading and math in less than 20 school days. Please make sure your student comes prepared and ready to learn each school. Math and Reading we will be beginning our STAAR Success Plans. Science our students will be continuing their unit on organisms and the environment .
