Help get the camp reading for this summer’s campers, many who come from St. Paul’s! Gretna Glen will hold their Spring Work Day on Saturday, April 13th from 9 AM to 4 PM. The camp is located at 87 Old Mine Road, Lebanon, PA 17042. Lunch will be provided. You can come for the entire day or for just part of it. All ages and all skill levels are welcome. Please complete the Connection Card sign-up if interested or call the church office by April 8 so that we can let Gretna Glen know how many to expect.

SPUMC MINISTRIES SPECIAL SUNDAY SCHOOL SESSION #2 TO PROCESS THE GENERAL CONFERENCE DECISIONS Because of the nature of the recent decisions of our General Conference, I am going to have a SECOND SESSION of a special Sunday School hour tentatively scheduled for TODAY at 9:45 a.m. in the WEST Sanctuary. Please feel free to join us as we clarify what these decisions mean for us – this time exploring some of the biblical perspectives on the issues. –Pastor David EASTER EGG HUNT CANDY NEEDED! This year the Youth Ministry is hosting the annual Easter Egg Hunt. We need donations of individually wrapped candy that will fit into the plastic eggs. A marked plastic bin has been placed inside the church office for all candy donations. The donation deadline is TODAY. Thank you for your thoughtful and generous spirit! EASTER EGG HUNT On Palm Sunday, April 14, join us for our annual Easter Egg Hunt for ages 0-Grade 3. It will begin at 9:45 AM SHARP! UNITED METHODIST WOMEN Needlework Circle April 10 @ 9:30 a.m. (Social Hall) Join us for all or part of the day in the social hall as we create comforters for those in need and Pocket Prayer Quilts. No experience necessary – we will teach you how to knot. Join us for some great fellowship. Prayer Shawl Ministry April 16 @ 9:30 a.m. (Prayer Room) Join us in the Prayer Room (123) as we prayerfully create Prayer Shawls to comfort and encourage our brothers and sisters. Yarn and patterns are available.

MAY HERALD ARTICLES DEADLINE: NEXT SUNDAY, APRIL 14! PALM SUNDAY WHITE GIFT SERVICE On April 14, we are asking each church family member to bring a nonperishable food item that has been wrapped in white tissue paper or a white paper bag. The white gifts will be displayed during the worship services. To guarantee a variety of food items, we are suggesting if your last name begins with A-I, you may consider donating canned fruit (fruit cocktail, applesauce, assorted fruits); J-R consider donating boxed items (pasta, potatoes, cake, brownie or muffin mixed, pudding or Jello, peanut butter); and S-Z consider donating canned vegetables or a bag of potatoes. All donations will be greatly appreciated. Please be sure to check the expiration dates on your donated items. Each basket will include a ham provided by the Outreach Ministry Team. If you would prefer to offer a monetary donation, envelopes will be provided in the pews. Please mark the envelope “PALM SUNDAY WHITE GIFT” and include your name or envelope number if you wish to receive credit for your monetary donation. PALM SUNDAY BRUNCH The St. Paul’s Kitchen Service Team will be hosting a Palm Sunday Brunch on Palm Sunday, April 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The menu will include items such as French toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, baked ham, seafood chowder and much more. There is no charge for the event, but donations will be accepted. The donations will be used for future upgrades to the kitchen facility. Come and fellowship with the rest of the St. Paul’s family as we begin to celebrate the Easter Holy Week!

2ND SUNDAY FOOD BANK DONATIONS On Sunday, April 14, St. Paul’s will collect nonperishable food items to help restock the shelves of the local community cupboard. The following items are the current needs. The starred items are ongoing needs. *12 oz. applesauce, *canned fruit, canned potatoes/instant potatoes, canned carrots, mixed vegetables, *pasta sauce, *SPAM, canned chicken, *ketchup, *crackers, *rice, bottled water, juice, *laundry detergent, *deodorant, *tissues, *toilet paper, feminine products. Please place all donations in the marked box located inside the office door. Thank you for your continued generosity which benefits those in need. APRIL OUTREACH FOCUS: The Elizabethtown Child Care Center The Elizabethtown Child Care Center provides high quality, educational and safe child care at affordable rates for families who live and work in the Elizabethtown area and provides a sliding tuition scale so that families can pay according to their income level. ECCC is open Monday through Friday, 6am-6pm, provides services for infants, toddlers and preschoolers and offers before and after school care for kindergarten through 5th grade. There is also a full summer program for all ages through 5th grade. Currently, approximately 150 children from about 110 families are served. ECCC is licensed through the Dept. of Human Services as a child care center and has earned the highest ratings of 4 stars through the Keystone STARS program. We are closely connected to the community through our partnership with Elizabethtown College in the Elizabethtown HUB. Monetary donations may be made using the designated monthly mission envelope or a pew envelope marked E-TOWN CHILD CARE CENTER. Thank you for your generosity.

TRUSTEE WORK DAY Saturday, April 20 8 AM-12 Noon Join us to work on general church upkeep. Plenty of indoor and outdoor projects. All skill levels welcome! INTERESTED IN BECOMING A MEMBER OF ST. PAUL’S? Our next New Member Class is coming up on Sunday, April 28th after the 11:00 service (approximately 12:15 PM). Lunch will be provided. The class session will be about 90 minutes. New members will be received into the church on Sunday May 5th at whichever service you normally attend. Heart & Hand Mission Trip July 7-13, 2019 You may not end up on the NBC Nightly News, but you can definitely make a world of difference in the lives of the people in West Virginia. Heart & Hand is a United Methodist non-profit mission located in Philippi, West Virginia. St. Paul’s has been supporting this ministry for many years by sending groups of people to do home repair and construction. People of all skill levels are always needed. THE GRETNA GLEN CAMP & RETREAT CENTER IS HIRING for the summer camp season. Summer staff arrive for staff training on June 5th and serve at Gretna Glen through August 10th. Gretna Glen is hiring lifeguards, counselors, food service and program team members. These positions are often held by college age staff, but please know they welcome applications from any adult that seeks to work in a Christian camp environment.
