SPUMC MINISTRIES HELP NEEDED AT THE FAIR! We need YOU! Today is the last day for volunteers to sign up to help at our food stand at the Elizabethtown Fair. Thank you to those who have already volunteered! There are more shifts to fill, so please consider being a volunteer or adding a shift if you’ve already signed up. Help is especially needed Thursday through Saturday and open jobs include: server, cashier, dishwasher, saute’ peppers & onions, and steam turkey drums. Check the Fair board in the Gathering Space for openings. There is also an online option, link: http://signup.com/go/dVDUbsc The grocery board is in the Gathering Place. Please take a post-it (or two!) and donate items for the stand. Your generosity is appreciated! REMEMBER THAT THE SECOND SUNDAY OF THE MONTH ST. PAUL’S helps restock the shelves of our local community cupboard, which helps to feed and care for those less fortunate within our community. COMMUNITY CUPBOARD NEEDS: Canned Vegetables, Canned Fruit, Soup (no chicken noodle or tomato) Cereal, Pasta Sauce, Salad Dressing, Mayo, Jello, Canned Chicken, SPAM, Juice, Coffee, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Shampoo/Conditioner, Laundry Detergent, Diapers (size 4, 5, 6) and Wipes. Monetary gifts are also accepted and used for perishable items such as meat and milk. Make checks payable to “St Paul’s UMC” and earmark them “Community Cupboard”. Include your name or offering envelope number if you wish to receive credit.

REMINDER: Activity bags can be found in the colorful wooden chests entering or inside each sanctuary. Also available are crayons and children’s bulletins to entertain children during worship. KIDS OWN WORSHIP (children’s church) is offered at the 11:00 a.m. service. The 1st Sunday of each month will be designated as Family Worship! This will allow families to enjoy the worship communion experience together. KOW will be available for all remaining Sundays in each month.

MONTHLY TRUSTEE WORK DAY ON AUGUST 18 – The Trustees would like to invite you to participate in their monthly “work day” at the church. Here are the details from Trustee Chairperson, John Lerch... Who: Anyone, all ages When: Third Saturday of every month from 8am to noon Where: Meet in the church gathering space What: General upkeep of the church, indoor and outdoor projects a plenty, all skill levels welcome More What: Cleaning, organizing, repairing, fixing, painting, lawn care and more. Just like our homes, the church needs constant maintaining. Not available this month, come see us next month. For all that God has provided to you, give a little of your time back. DO YOU LOVE CHILDREN? Then MOM’s is for you! MOM’s is for children ages 1preschool. MOM’s meets every Monday morning 9-11 a.m. (September-May). What would I be doing? Age 1-3 room – play, read a book, spend time with the children. Change diapers as needed.  Age 3-5 room – Children enjoy playtime/craft, snack, circle time, music and activity time. “Focused on love, surrounded by laughter, and influenced by Christ's teachings!” All youth from 7th grade through 12th grade are encouraged to attend Sunday school in the LifeLine rooms on the upper level of the church. SPUMC MINISTRIES COMMUNITY EVENTS YOU’RE INVITED TO THE COMMUNITY PLACE ON WASHINGTON CAPITAL CAMPAIGN LAUNCH, 61 E Washington Street, Elizabethtown, Saturday, August 18, from 4-7PM. There will be building tours, giveaways, a whoopie pie sale, dignitaries, and an opportunity to meet Community Place Partners. Pork BBQ Sandwich Meal tickets are available for $10. Email [email protected] to purchase tickets for the meal and to sign up for the Cornhole Tournament ($50 for a team of 2; $25 for single). URGENT: HOST FAMILIES NEEDED Two host families are needed from August 5th through 24th to host short-term foreign exchange students via American Homelife International (AHLI). There will be french high school students (ages 14-18) needing a place to stay, meals, and transportation to an area church for their weekday program (a stipend is provided).
