WELCOME to FBCScottsdale We’re glad you’ve chosen to worship at FBCScottsdale this morning. If this is your first time, we would love to get to know you a little better, so please fill out the card that is inside this Worship folder. You can put the card in the offering plate as it goes by. Enjoy the service!

The vision of FBCScottsdale is to be a light in the community, where people come as they are to worship and explore God, connect with people, and get involved in ministry to the whole person: body, mind, and spirit.

Connection Luncheon Join the seniors on Friday, January 31st from Noon - 2:00p in C2 for another Connection Luncheon. They will hear from our Creative Arts Pastor Jessie Young and enjoy a great meal. This is a great time of fellowship, if you’re interested please sign up at Welcome Central. Giving Statements If you give online you can log onto your account and get your statement there, but if you don’t give online then your statement has been printed out and mailed to you. If you would like to give online in the future, visit our website at fbcscottsdale. org and click on the giving link. Youth Life Groups The youth group will be changing things up in February but don’t worry, it’s a change that you will love! Sunday night small groups are going to extend a half hour (6:30 - 8:00p) and change gears just slightly to be Life Groups. This just means we will be asking the question “Where does God’s life intersect our daily life?” If you are not currently in a group, join us on Sunday nights and find out what these groups are all about.

SERMON NOTES January 26th, 2014

Covenant of Beginnings The story of Noah can be found in Genesis 6-9. Genesis 8:1 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark... Noahic Covenant Genesis 9:11 “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.” Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliations: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 1 Corinthians 11:23-25 The Lord Jesus on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.”
