Excerpt from the Sermon Journal, Monday, September 3, 2018 Written by Pastor Tom Harrison I Belong to the Greatest Love of All C.S. Lewis wrote a wonderful little book, The Four Loves, where he described the four biblical Greek words for love: family, friendship, sexual and God’s. All four have their place. Jesus’ primary focus was on God’s “agape” love. God’s love is also referred to as “grace,” as we have done nothing to earn or deserve it. This love focuses on attitude and behavior. It emphasizes truth and responsibility. Emotions come and go, but agape is consistent, sacrificial and strong. It promotes God’s kingdom, not our own agenda. Paul describes it so well in “The Love Chapter” of 1 Corinthians 13.
