Who Is God? Center Point Church Statement of Faith God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

1. God is holy, holy, holy. And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” Isaiah 6:3 (NIV) Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: “ ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.” Revelation 4:8 (NIV) 2. God is just. He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. Deuteronomy 32:4 (NIV)

3. God is merciful. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV) 4. God is love. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. I John 4:7-8 (NIV)

Going Deeper on your own: This week, we talked about some of the attributes of God’s character. I Peter 1:15 says, “But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.” As followers of Christ, we are to respond to God’s love for us by living our lives to reflect the character and nature of the God we serve. To help you develop this lifestyle of holiness, this week’s memory verse is Micah 6:8 which says, “The Lord God has told us what is right and what he demands: ‘See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God.’” Don’t forget to continue our Essential OneHundred Reading Plan – 100 days of scripture reading to help you continue to lay a foundation of godliness in your life.
