Approximately 50 from our church are serving across the entire country with nearly 2,900 others from all parts of our country and across the globe. Excerpt from the Sermon Journal, Monday, July 17, 2017 Written by Pastor Tom Harrison Pain is part of life. Christians aren’t immune to it. Jesus quoted Psalm 22:1 from the cross. Psalm 44 is another depressing text. When Jesus asks Peter THE question, the response morphs from, way to go, to, I’m going to die, to, “Get behind me Satan.” What should have been a triumphant moment in the oft-stumbling Peter, becomes one of his biggest embarrassments. It was a painful moment. Paul, in full self-disclosure, reveals his struggle with not being the person he wants to be in Romans 7. Yet, when it’s all said and done, pain doesn’t prevail. As Romans 8:31-39 anticipates, “We are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” As the classic hymn goes: “O Victory in Jesus!”
