2nd Saturday volunteers, 2015

Why Are You Here Today? God knows. And He has a message just for you. We invite you to join in worship and to open your heart to His Word. You might leave encouraged… refreshed … or even a changed person. Whatever it is you need, God can provide—and He wants to. That’s why He brought you here today. And we hope He brings you back time and time again. Because we would love for you to become part of the family here at Asbury!

Current Sermon Series April 3 -The thing the disciples least expected was for Jesus to rise from the dead—they had no context for this in their experience. He appeared to them transformed, yet recognizable—almost ordinary (a physical body that could be mistaken for a gardener, but one that could pass through doors, etc.). An empty tomb and eye-witness accounts confirm it was not a vision, or spiritual experience or delusion—it was something new.

Notes: __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ __________________________________ Consider this: On the one hand, Jesus rebuked Peter: “You of little faith...why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31). James (2:6) reiterated that point, saying that someone who doubts is like a wave in the sea (unstable). On the other hand, Jesus didn’t smash “doubting” Thomas. And Jude 22 (there’s only one chapter in the Book of Jude) has only six words to it: “Be merciful to those who doubt.” Just as we all have doubts, we also all need mercy. We need lots of help in both.
