PARK HOURS

A visit to the Maine Wildlife Park is a day filled with discovery. There are over 30 species of Maine wildlife to observe and photograph in natural habitats. There are many other things to explore here too!

The Maine Wildlife Park is open from mid-April through Veteran’s Day. Our gates open daily at 9:30AM and close at 4:30PM. Visitors may stay until 6PM.*

Special group rates are $3.50 per person for a group of 15 or more. Various Season Passes are available, including a Family Pass for $75.

The park offers special weekend programs that feature wildlife presentations and events for all ages from May to October. Weekday programs are also available by reservation for a small additional fee. These include wildlife and conservation education programs, taught by professionals, as well as guided tours of the Park led by trained volunteers.

Visitors may not bring food into the Park to feed our animals. Special feed for the deer, bears, ground birds and fish is available from vending machines that accept quarters. Sadly, we can’t allow dogs or other pets inside the park.

The Maine Wildlife Park provides a fascinating experience for nature lovers of all ages, and a great way to introduce children to the wonders of Maine’s wildlife and the natural world. Bring a picnic and spend the day! There are rustic shelters you can reserve for parties, reunions, birthdays and all kinds of wild gatherings.

Many of our animals are here because they were injured or orphaned, or because they are human dependent – raised, sometimes illegally, in captivity. The Maine Wildlife Park is one of the few places you’re guaranteed to see a real Maine moose!

ATTENTION PHOTOGRAPHERS! SOME OF THE MANY ANIMALS YOU’LL ENCOUNTER AT THE MAINE WILDLIFE PARK INCLUDE: Moose, Black Bear, Canada Lynx, White-tailed Deer, Cougar, Opossum, Porcupine , Fisher, Bobcat, Raccoon, Hawks, Owls, Turkey Vulture, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, Raven, Skunk, Woodchuck, Coyote, Wild Turkey, Red Fox, Gray Fox, Rare Native Turtles, Native Snakes, Coldwater Fish

Professional and amateur photographers alike can get once-in-a-lifetime, close-range pictures or video of our wildlife with a Summer or Winter Photographer’s Admission Pass. Pass holders have special guided access to the enclosures to take up-close shots that are clear of fences or obstacles.
