Pastor’s Paragraph “2017 Amazing Year” – Who would have believed that we would see (1) “The Great American Eclipse”- Total Solar Eclipse – August, 21st, (2) “Harvey” – Worst Major hurricane in 50 years in which the church experienced major damages – August 25th, & (3) “Beautiful Snow in South Texas” – December 8th in the same year? In that same year our First Baptist family people gave $90,256 toward the need of $350,000 to repair our buildings. We have received an additional $80,030 from family, and friends all across our convention! Together God has provided us $171,286 toward our expenses of $350,000. We are also blessed by the good news that Samaritan Purse Ministries will provide for the rest of our damages. This news is truly a “miracle” from God! Please join Cheryl and me in praising God for His goodness to First Baptist! He truly must love First Baptist, Victoria! All throughout the years we have seen Him provide for the “vital ministry” that we do here! God has once again provided for His Church! Thank you Church for your faithful support of the “vital ministries” that God has commissioned us to do!

“Christmas Season” – Special thanks to Dennis Turpin for your leadership in our days of Christmas! The “Hanging of the Green”, “Taste Of First Baptist”, “Christmas Pageant”, & “Collide Concert” by our children were all wonderful events! We are so blessed to have talented lay people participating and coordinating these blessed events. First Baptist is blessed with the opportunity to involve children in music. We have so many talented people that are willing to use their talents and time for the glory of God! Thank you to each and every one who had a part in the blessings of the season! “Winter Bible Study/January 7-9” - We are so excited to be able to have Dr. Bill Tolar for one more time! Dr. Tolar will lead us in our “Winter Bible Study” – Sunday Jan. 7 – Tue. Jan. 9th”. This year’s study is “Encouraging Suffering Christians – I Peter”. I can’t think of a better way to begin the new year! Plan to join us in “Winter Bible Study 2018/Sunday-Tuesday/January 7-9.”
