WOMEN’S BUSINESS CENTER OF OHIO $58/members $63/non members Saturday, October 17, 2015 Departing from the Women’s Business Center at 8am, returning approximately 6:00pm Arrive at 7:30am to enjoy a brief reception featuring scrumptious treats from WBC member businesses. Our first stop on this FUNdraising tour is Jungle Jim’s International Market in Cincinnati. This market is often described as the “theme park of food” due to the unusual displays throughout the store. At the entrance, animal replicas are accompanied by occasional roars and the splashing of a miniature waterfall in the background. Inside are several animatronic displays, such a "rock band" composed of General Mills cereal mascots. The store features over 180,000 items, about 60,000 which are international items from 70 countries, and over 300,000 square feet, live seafood tanks, one of the largest wine collections in the United States as well as a beer and wine tasting bar. You will have 2.5 hours here for shopping and lunch on your own. Several restaurants adjoin the market including CiCi’s Pizza, Buffalo Wings and Rings, and Jersey Mikes. Just across the parking lot you will find Chipotle and Jersey Mike’s. You may bring a cooler for perishable purchases. Small/personal sized coolers may be placed in the overhead bins onboard and larger coolers will need to be stored in luggage compartments under the bus. Please clearly mark the cooler with your name. We are unable to provide ice, however, you may purchase ice inside Jungle Jim’s. Our second stop is at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati for a guided Women of Courage tour which highlights the accomplishments of women, famous and not so famous, who have championed freedom in the US and Across the Globe. You will have time to explore the Center on your own following the tour. The mission of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is to reveal stories of freedom’s heroes, from the era of the Underground Railroad to contemporary times, challenging and inspiring everyone to take courageous steps of freedom today. Don’t miss the special exhibit Changing America: The Emancipation Proclamation, 1863 and the March on Washington, 1963. (The document is also on display as part of this exhibition.)
