*CALL TO CONFESSION AND PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of the garden, you have given humanity the bounty of your creation: food, resources, water, and land; in our abundance, we have not always shared compassionately. We have often neglected to care for those whose life circumstances make it difficult to survive in this world. Help us to seek justice in our daily living. Help us to recognize and challenge inequities. Remind us that all belong to you, and guide us toward living like we belong to one another. Amen.

*WORDS OF FORGIVENESS

Leader: Friends, hear and believe the good news of the Gospel: People: We are saved by grace through faith. In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God. Amen.

*GLORIA PATRI (HYMN 581)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
