Worship Ministry Paid Internship Part Time Job at Bethany Church, Long Beach
Bethany Church is a CBA church in the amazing city of Long Beach, CA. We have a historic and influential prominence in our community as one of our cities largest churches with over 100 years of ministry. Our vision is to glorify God and see people transformed into passionate disciples of Jesus. We have a traditional and modern service each Sunday. We are excited about what God is doing in our church. We are seeking a passionate worship leader who desires to be mentored by and work with our worship pastor to help grow the excellence of our modern service and it’s ability to reach younger generations. Main Responsibilities: • Participating in the worship band for our services including rehearsals, potentially leading worship on a rotating basis • Assisting with worship service planning including song selection, flow, etc. • Assisting with writing, arranging, programming, and preparing music and music related technology for the service • Posting to Planning Center and communicating with team members Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Musical abilities are essential, including excellence in a worship band instrument (ideally keyboard or electric guitar) and in singing. Applicant must be versed in modern worship styles (Hillsong, Passion, Elevation Worship, etc.) and able to use these skills to enhance our worship services. • Ability to lead a worship team rehearsal is essential, including instructing all members on how to play their part better. (Thus, a basic knowledge of all worship band instruments and vocal harmonization is expected.) • Ideally, applicant will also have the following: knowledge of how to write and transpose music charts; experience using, creating, editing multitracks, using Ableton LIVE; basic understanding of worship center technologies (sound, lights, media, in-ear monitors, etc.). Schedule and Compensation • Sunday Services (9am-12pm) and Thursday Night Rehearsals (7-9pm) are a required part of this job. • In addition to the above, office hours in Long Beach will be required 1-2 days per week to total 10-15 hours of work per week. • We are looking for an applicant who desires to be invested into through a one- to two-year internship; we desire to help prepare the intern to launch into fulltime worship ministry in the future.
