Invitation to Discipleship Introit

“Alleluia” from Exultate Jubilate Kristen Bumpas, soloist

Call to Worship

W.A. Mozar t

Leader: Storytelling God, we come to this place to hear the stories of our faith. People: In our worship, bring the words of our ancestors to life, and help us to enter into these stories of hope. Leader: Storytelling God, we recognize your presence in the stories of our lives. People: In our worship, remind us that you call us by name, you hold our lives in your hands, and you weave us together into holy community. Leader: Storytelling God, you are still writing a story of love. People: In our worship, prepare us to tell your story to the world. Let us worship God!

Holy, Holy, Holy

*Call to Confession and Prayer of Confession God who speaks, you call us to lift our voices, but we struggle to be so bold. You call us to confront hateful narratives with words of love, but we struggle to find the right things to say.You call us to speak difficult truths, but we worry about how others will perceive us. Speak a word of hope to us, God, and blot out our sins. When you call, help each of us to respond: “Here I am! Send me.” Amen.

Words Matter

Rev. Sarah Are

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
