YOUniversity 2016 WHO: Students who have completed grades 6th – 12th WHEN: May 30th, 2016- June 3rd, 2016 WHERE: Laguna Beach Christian Retreat- Florida REGISTRATION: Online at firstwest.cc Cost: $360 DEPARTURE CHECK IN: Weber Next Gen- Monday, May 30th @ 5:00 AM RETURN: Weber Next Gen- Friday, June 3rd @ 7:00 PM  

Mandatory Parent Meeting Sunday, May 22th, 2016 12:30 PM in the Worship Room in Weber Next Gen WHAT TO BRING: Please mark your name clearly on all of your belongings Luggage: One suitcase, one carry-on and one bedding bag Bedding: Bed Linens – sleeping bag or twin size sheets, blanket, pillow Toiletries: Bath towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, and conditioner Clothing: Sportswear (dark colored t-shirts), jeans, clothes for worship, underwear, socks, swimsuit (Girls- one piece), water shoes, sleepwear, rain jacket or sweatshirt, athletic shoes Other: Bible and pen, Sunscreen/lotion, sunglasses, Insect repellant, flashlight/batteries, beach towel Medications: Bring all medications to the Nurse’s table at check-in. It must be in the original prescription bottle with labeled instructions for dosage amount. We will have a nurse on site at the camp to distribute medications. Items you will NOT be allowed to bring: iPad, Kindle, Balloons, water pistols, questionable shirts or hats, alcohol, tobacco products, drugs, DVD players, TV’s, radios, pornography, weapons, fireworks, 2-piece swimsuits or speedos, short shorts, see-through clothing, spaghetti strap tanks, computers/laptops, secular magazines or books, bad attitudes! Items you CAN Bring: Students, at their own liability and risk, are allowed to bring iPods or cell phones. Our Staff has the right to confiscate if needed. Money: Money for lunch on the way to camp. All meals provided once we arrive at camp. You can bring extra spending money for snacks and drinks. Money for band and other merchandise (CDs, t-shirts, etc.)

CAMP RULES OF CONDUCT Dear Retreat Coordinator, Please go over these rules of conduct with your group at orientation. Your help in these areas will allow us to preserve a safe and pleasant environment and a Christian witness to the residents who live around our properties. CAMP CURFEWS

Groups must be off beach and within retreat boundaries by 11pm CST. Groups should be quiet and in their room by 12 mid. PUBLIC ACCESS TO BEACH / PRIVATE PROPERTY

Please use the public access paths to go to the beach. All other land along the beach is privately owned. Please show respect for our neighbors by not trespassing on their property or decks in front of their homes. SEA OATS

Please do not cross over the barriers and fences that surround the sea oat plantings. This is a protected species, and it is illegal to pick or damage a sea oat plant. TRASH ON THE BEACH

Help us keep the beach clean for everyone by not littering. Trash receptacles are provided on the beach. BEACH FLAG WARNING SYSTEM

Panama City Beach has a flag warning system to ensure safe swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. Please note the flag color daily, and adjust your groups swimming activities in the Gulf. DOUBLE RED FLAGS RED FLAG YELLOW FLAG GREEN FLAG PURPLE FLAG

DAMAGES

Damages will be assessed for vandalism, horseplay, and carelessness. We charge $50 per hole for sheet rock damage. SUPERVISION

Please provide at least one adult supervisor to reside in any room where minors are housed. Also, provide visual/safety supervision in meeting rooms and outdoor recreation areas. We recommend the buddy system for swimming, especially in the Gulf. Please lock your housing rooms when you are at the beach or in meetings. MAINTENANCE

Please help us by informing everyone on your staff to report maintenance problems, questions about policies, and requests of any kind to the office, gift shops, or any of our staff on the grounds. Our friendly staff will then get word immediately to the right person to handle your need.

WHAT PARENTS & COUNSELORS NEED TO KNOW WHERE: Our Retreats are located on the west end of Panama City Beach, 3 miles west at the

intersection of Highways 79 & 98-A, on Highway 98-A. (Front Beach Road) We are miles away from the "strip" area of the beach, in a less congested area of the beach that is safe and conducive for camp.

HOUSING: Either apartment/motel style or dormitory style units, with bunk beds (double beds in some

units), heated and air-conditioned throughout. All units have inside bathroom facilities with plenty of hot water. MEALS: Food is brought & prepared in large, well-equipped kitchens by staff from your church. Or,

we provide a catering option for your meals. WORSHIP: An air-conditioned meeting room with comfortable seating, podium, tv, vcr/dvd combo, &

dry erase board. Overhead projectors are available on request. Groups provide their own sound systems. RECREATION: The beautiful beach, sand and surf of the Gulf of Mexico. Swimming pools and

volleyball/basketball courts are lighted for night play. Heated pool is available Nov 1 to May 1. COMMUNICATION: Rooms do not have phones, but courtesy phones are available on grounds. We

can get emergency messages to your child. Our office number, 850-234-2502, is answered from 8am to 12mid C.S.T. After midnight our answering machine has an emergency number. If you send mail, please put the Name of the Church or Group your child is with on the envelope. SAFETY: Good medical facilities are nearby: Seawind Medical Clinic, 3 miles east at 16181 Panama
