With the rapid changes in technology, our vision must be flexible and mobile so that we can meet the educational needs of students working for academic degrees as well as work force training. 4. How do you feel Blinn College impacts the local economy? How can the Blinn Board of Trustees make a positive impact on local economic growth? A. Obviously, Blinn has a huge impact on the Washington County economy. As the college enrollment grows, that will be a positive impact. At the same time, the college must be on the cutting edge of workforce training to help for existing and new industries in our community. That, in turn, will be a positive impact on our economy. Are there any other comments you would like to make? A.Blinn has been a very significant part of the Washington County community for nearly 140 years, and it is one of the most respected community colleges in the state and the United States. The quality of education Blinn students receive is outstanding, and that is validated by its ranking among the number of students that transfer to four-year colleges. The staff, faculty and administration are the best. The challenge of the board of trustees is to help provide the resources and facilities for the college to meet the needs of the fast changing world of higher education.
