HPUMC.ORG/YOUTH
Welcome.
Jesus tells his disciples to go and make more disciples. There are lots of ways to do this, lots of ways for disciples to help make more disciples. This little book is simple. This little book is about one thing. This little book is about how we, HPUMC Youth, intend to help make more disciples.
THE MISSION // To help middle school and high school students become deeply devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
THE VISION // Youth are Equipped and Empowered to live as disciples now, in the 13th grade, and beyond. THE STRATEGY // To accomplish our mission, we will do the following four things with excellence: create strategic environments, foster personal relationships, intentionally partner with parents and promote missional living. The following pages outline each piece of the HPUMC Youth stategy.
A Student Equipped to be a disciple •
Has the tools to study the scripture and read from it devotionally.
•
Has experience in a variety of ways to worship.
•
Has experience with a variety of ways to pray.
•
Has served God and others and experienced the joy of living beyond oneself.
•
Has engaged in authentic Christian community.
A Student Empowered to be a disciple •
Shares the truth of the scripture with others.
•
Is actively involved with a worship community.
•
Engages with God regularly through prayer.
•
Serves God and others both inside and outside of the Church.
•
Actively engages in Christian community and invites others into that community.

E-Newsletter
A discussion class for parents on Sundays at 9:30 am. Parents discuss the weekly youth curriculum, hot topics for HPUMC Families and parenting skills.
Each quarter, we bring in an esteemed speaker to present and answer questions around a relevant topic of interest to HPUMC Families.
HPUMC Youth and Adult Ministries are partnering up to begin small groups for parents during NightLife, so you can make Sunday or Wednesday a family night at church.
HPUMC Youth sends out a weekly newsletter with upcoming events, program details and a message from Matt. It’s an ongoing way for your family to stay connected.
ENGAGING PARENTS... in the ministry of the church Two families from each grade will serve as lead parent teams. They will help give feedback and promote communication between staff and parents. We need you! We challenge you to join the HPUMC Youth Team by serving in one of these areas:
