ZUCKERBERG DEMANDS FACEBOOK RESPECT Mark Zuckerberg Rips FB Employees for Replacing ‘Black Lives Matter’ with … By: Quest07 Mark Zuckerberg has had enough of Facebook employees replacing “Black Lives Matter” on the company’s signature wall with “All Lives Matter.” So much so that the Facebook cofounder personally got involved with addressing the situation with a company announcement page. In a private memo, Zuckerberg was not shy about how he felt, saying he won’t stand for the 98% white staff at his Menlo Park, California office silencing the speech of others. “We’ve never had rules around what people can write on our walls,”

Zuckerberg said in the post. “We expect everybody to treat each other with respect.”

By: BlackReport.com Police in Salt Lake City, Utah, faced rock-throwing protesters after officers shot a young man who was involved in a fight with another man late on Saturday, the city’s police department and local media said.

The Salt Lake City’s police department said on Twitter that officers on an unrelated call in the downtown Rio Grande area were “alerted to assault in progress, (and) tried to engage altercation.” It said the investigation continues.

There were conflicting reports about the age of the man who was shot. He was taken to a local hospital and no other details were immediately available Sunday on his name or condition.

The shooting comes as police departments nationwide are under increased scrutiny over allegations of excessive force.

THE LORD’S MONEY $188 Million Powerball Winner, Marie Holmes, Being Sued by Local Pastor By: BlackNews.com

27-year old Marie Holmes, the woman from North Carolina that recently won the $188 million Powerball lottery, is back in the news. The first time, it was about her spending $21 million to bail her boyfriend ouf of jail. But this is time, a local pastor is reportedly suing her for $10 million for reneging on a verbal contract. Holmes, an African American mother of four children, took home a lump sum of $127 million after she hit the jackpot back in February 2015. And now Pastor Kevin Matthews, who happens to be white, is suing her for backing out of their

verbal agreement. Matthews says that he is experiencing emotional and mental distress because Holmes no longer wants to give him the $1.5 million that she agreed to give him to purchase land to build a retreat facility. “Because of the emotional distress and mental stress, they put me through, I had to start taking more medicine for anxiety and depression due to this situation,” Matthews said. He even told reporters, “God led him to her house and he prayed with her.”

Smitty's Motorcycle Club opened for business on July 4, 2015, and boasts of a live entertainment venue, open bar, and a spacious room with tables to play billiards (shoot pool), and boards to throw darts. The rear of the establishment is open air, yet also has a bartender, a stage for live bands to perform, and a DJ spinning the CD's between live music sets. Owned and operated by Warren J. Smith, Sr., a 56 year old retired U.S. Army veteran with two children, the establishment has gotten off to a great start as Smith offers the entire community a cozy place to

meet and greet; and even offers the opportunity to conduct fundraisers. So, a family history of providing community fun and entertainment will not be lost on the eastside of San Antonio, and makes Warren J. Smith, Sr. a smooth operator. When asked what he wants the people of San Antonio to know about his business and the atmosphere in which it is run, Smith states his case: "Smitty's is the place to hang out; it's a one of a

kind venue for bike lovers to mingle, hold Club events and socialize with friends from other Colors. You get to see tricked out Harleys, Gold wings and Crotch Bikes with good music and food. “BLACKEST BLACK” The cameras captured Virginia McLaurin, aged 106, dancing with President Obama and, separately, Clark Reynolds, aged three, gazing up as the president touched his cheek.

Barack Obama's 'blackest' Black History Month By: Joel Gunter Of all the visitors to the White House for this year's Black History Month, which ends on Monday and is the last of Barack Obama's presidency, two stood out. With 103 years between them, one had witnessed first hand the years of fierce struggle that laid the ground for a black president, the other had never lived under a white one.

Later, at a reception for the guests, someone called out "Hey Michelle" to the First Lady. The president quipped: "We know it's Black History Month when you hear somebody say, 'Heyyy, Michelle! Girl, you look so good!'"

WHERE’S THE BLACK

FUGITIVES WANTED $$ REWARD FOR INFORMATION $$ Finley: Dave Bing asks, where are the black people? By: Nolan Finley Treymaine Baker Poss Cs Pg1 4grams-200grams 2102222330 or 2108788926 CASH REWARD

Dave Bing stood before Detroit’s business and civic leaders last week and asked the same question I did a year ago: Where are the black people? The former mayor wasn’t talking about the absence of African-Americans in the hot new downtown nightspots, its trendy lofts and behind desks in its office buildings. He was raising an alarm about the larger and more troubling diminishment of blacks in leadership roles in Detroit’s civic, business, media and political communities. “There is little real inclusion or real opportunities for Detroit businesses or residents,” Bing declared in remarks to the regional chamber’s Detroit Policy Conference. After recapping the historic rise of black power and influence in Detroit, Bing noted that today African-Americans are playing a secondary role. “From a corporate standpoint, the majority of companies today don’t have persons of color on the board, as officers, or managers with decision

making authority” he said. “Black contractors and developers find themselves on the outside looking in. When given an opportunity, it’s miniscule.” Bing, whose former steel company was once one of the nation’s largest blackowned businesses, also decried the lessened role of civic organizations such as New Detroit and the Urban League in shaping the vision for Detroit’s future. “Today we have a void in AfricanAmerican leadership,” he said. This could be written off as sour grapes by an ex-mayor who has been largely ignored since leaving office. But Bing still commands considerable respect from city residents, and what he’s saying is echoed on urban radio and in conversations in the black community. Inclusion is embraced as a goal by the business community and City Hall, and yet still many of the city’s black residents feel the wonderful wave of Detroit’s revival is washing them out. And while neighborhoods have been a focus of Mayor Mike Duggan — and of last week’s policy conference — progress has been slow in improving the quality of life for too many in the city. There’s still a sense of Two Detroits, one for the white and successful, and one for the poor and black.

BLACK HOLLYWOOD What It's Like To Be A Black Woman In White Hollywood Four accomplished directors open up about the trials and tribulations of the business. By: Maxwell Strachtan About once a year, Angela Robinson stops over at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles to explain to a group of women just how few people in Hollywood want to them to succeed. It's important to Robinson, a black woman who has directed films that include "Herbie: Fully Loaded," that these women know what they're up against: an industry in which women and people of color are few and far between, rarely run the show and are seen as threats to the job security of established white men. As she explained to The Huffington Post, "If you have a job, then probably a white guy doesn’t." To say a successful black female director like Robinson is a rarity in Hollywood would be an understatement. A recently published study out of USC's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism found that, of 407 assessed directors who premiered major movies and shows during 2014-2015, only 53 were people of color. And only two, Amma Asante and Ava DuVernay, were black women. When it comes to other positions behind the camera, the situation is equally dismal for women of color. “I’m often the only black person around. I’m often only the woman around," Robinson said. When talking about the lack of diversity at the Oscars, many people think about black women only in terms of their representation in front of the camera. But the success of DuVernay's "Selma" aside, black female directors remain one of the most underutilized and

systematically silenced groups in Hollywood. Like many women and people of color in Hollywood, Robinson has grown used to not working with many people who look like her. She likes to say she is "fluent" in white maleness. When she first walked onto the set of Shonda Rhimes' diverse ABC show "How To Get Away With Murder," she found herself thinking, "Oh my God, there's so many people of color around.'" "Then I realized, 'No, my own kind of view has been totally warped,'" she said. Robinson emphasizes that she likes the white men she works with, for the most part. She doesn't believe they are especially racist, either, just occasionally unaware of their own privilege -- as when Matt Damon recently caused a viral uproar on HBO's "Project Greenlight," a show about the making of movies. The Academy Award-winning screenwriter told Hollywood producer Effie Brown that diversity was only in front of the camera, not behind it, leading a visibly shocked Brown to respond, "Wow, OK." “I was like, that’s it!” Robinson said when she saw the viral clip. “It’s so off the cuff. It’s so the air we breathe." Matt Damon speaking over the only black person in the room so he can explain diversity to her is SO WHITE it hurts pic.twitter.com/iaQStYZ0ij — Glen Coco (@MrPooni) September 14, 2015 Moments like this one are common among women and people of color in Hollywood. They just usually aren't aired on HBO. Kasi Lemmons, the director of films including "Eve's Bayou" and "Black Nativity," remembers the confusion she encountered after she wrote a script with white leads and only one black character. “I would go into meetings and people literally thought I was the assistant,” she laughed.
